Frequently Asked Questions> Behind-the-Wheel Training

Q1. What are the miniumum system requirements for taking a course?

A1. PC running Windows XP, using Internet Explorer 6.0 with Flash Player and Acrobat Reader; speakers or headset, and internet connection. For best results, use high-speed internet. Although you probably already have the Flash Player and Acrobat Reader, you may download them free at www.adobe.com.

Q2. I've completed a lesson, but I am unable to open the next lesson because the link is not active. How do I correct this?

A2. You probably have your pop-up blocker turned on. Please see the next question and answer below.

Q3. Why do I need to turn off my browser's pop-up blocker when taking a course?

A3. Our course lessons launch in their own separate browser, so the pop-up must be turned off. Also, our course progress recording function relies on the pop-up feature.

Q4. How do I turn off the pop-up blocker?

A4. From Internet Explorer, click the Tools link at the top left corner. Select Pop-up Blocker, then Turn Off Pop-up Blocker. As an option, you may select Pop-Up Blocker Settings, then type in the site's web address. From Mozilla Firefox, click the Tools link at the top left corner, then select Options. From the Options box, select the Content Tab, then uncheck the Block Pop Up Windows. As an option, you may also enter the site's web address in the Allowed Sites area. Finally, check if you have a third-party tool bar (like Google) installed to your browser. It will have its own separate pop-up blocker that will also need to be turned off.

Q5. When will I receive my certificate once I complete the course?

A5. We generate and mail certificates every Monday and Thursday, so if you don't receive your certificate within 10 days from completing your course, please contact us.

Q6. What do I do once I receive the certificate?

A6. Please review the steps to getting your license on our home page. Basically, if you are under 18 years of age, you'll need to enroll for behind-the-wheel training. When you do, you'll receive a proof of enrollment from the vendor. Take the proof of enrollment, and the certificate you receive from us, to the DMV to take your written examination for a provisional permit.
